Exciting news for NYC’s food-scene: a brand-new food hall has opened at 124 E 14th Street in Union Square — the new Time Out Market, a 10,000-sq-ft “neighbourhood format” location featuring seven kitchens, a full-service bar, outdoor terrace and about 240 seats.
This move is interesting because it signals a shift: instead of the massive mega-halls with 20+ vendors, here is something more compact, more focused on local talent and community flavour.
For our members and the broader industry, this is a good reminder: innovation still matters — finding the right scale, the right mix of vendors, the right neighbourhood vibe can make a difference. The landscape keeps changing, and food-businesses that adapt to this kind of fresh model may have an edge.
